School Name: Bovina Center Montessori School

Start Date: 08/09/2021

Come and join us at our future, farm-based Montessori school in the Northwestern Catskills of New York!

We are building an authentic AMI Montessori school for ages 18 months – 18 years, on a permaculture farm in the beautiful hamlet of Bovina Center, NY. We hope to open three classrooms this September 2021 in the new school, including an elementary class (6-12 years).

Please note: the elementary classroom will be split into two elementary classrooms in 2022 – lower (6-9) and upper (9-12) – and you can decide which one you’d prefer to run by then.

The goal of the Bovina Center Montessori School is to:

Create a safe, developmentally appropriate, and nurturing atmosphere for all children seeking it.

Create a challenging academic program at all levels and competencies that encourages students to be intellectually curious, to explore their creativity, and to get involved in the larger community in order to fulfill their potential.

Place emphasis on our four core educational areas, which reflect our geographical region and mission: nature conservation, the arts, sustainable farming/living, and entrepreneurship, through outdoor activities, work on the farm, and experiences in our beautiful natural surroundings.

Inspire a love of learning, through AMI-recognized programs.

Help students acquire the tools necessary to learn and live independently.

Instill in our students the belief that each and every one of them has something important to contribute to the world.

We can offer:

A competitive salary (commensurate with experience), health benefits, paid vacation/holidays/sick time, Montessori conferences allowance, paid professional development, and tuition assistance for dependent children. Housing can also be offered, if needed.

We are located in a great little growing community, with lots of folks and families moving into the county to take advantage of our beautiful scenery and rural towns.

Preference for AMI trained applicants with a passion for farm-based education, however, we are willing to look at soon-to-be or recent graduates as well!
