Description: Christian Family Montessori School is accepting applications for a Lower Elementary Guide.
Candidates must have an AMI diploma or be currently enrolled in an AMI elementary training course. Teaching experience at this level is preferred. We are a welcoming community that values collaboration and inclusivity. Our ideal candidate is a guide who is passionate about working with children, has an optimistic view of their capacities, and a strong grounding in Montessori philosophy.
Established in 1981, CFMS serves a diverse student body of students ages 3-12 in the heart of Washington DC and is fully recognized by AMI. In the fall of 2024 we will add an Adolescent Program that will serve grades 7-8. Unique among the region’s independent schools, our lower tuition attracts families who wouldn’t otherwise consider private education. Our students come from a wide range of socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds, and from various family structures. We are a LGBTQIA friendly community. CFMS serves the development of the whole child by pairing Montessori with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
